Vivo T4R 5G – A Solid Mid-Range Smartphone That Gets It Right

These days, picking a smartphone under ₹20,000 is tough. Every brand is throwing specs at you, but not every phone delivers a balanced experience. That’s where the Vivo T4R 5G enters the scene. Slated to launch on July 31, 2025, it’s expected to be priced at ₹18,990 — and from what we’ve seen so far, it’s a strong all-rounder.

Here’s a full breakdown of the T4R 5G — not just specs, but how it actually feels like it’ll perform in real life.

Vivo T4R 5G First Look – Sleek, Slim & Surprisingly Premium

At first glance, the Vivo T4R 5G doesn’t look like your typical budget phone. The 6.77-inch AMOLED display immediately grabs attention. It’s big, bright, and super smooth thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate. Whether you’re watching videos or just scrolling, the experience feels top-tier.

Design-wise, it’s got a nice curved look with a punch-hole camera at the front. The bezels are slim, and the phone fits well in hand. It’s also water- and dust-resistant, which is a great touch at this price.

Color options? You’ve got Aquamarine and Moonstone — both look clean and modern.

Big Battery, Fast Charging – It Keeps Going

One thing Vivo nailed here is the battery. The T4R packs a 5700mAh unit, which is bigger than most phones in this segment. You’ll easily get through a full day — and for light users, even more.

And if you do run low? 44W fast charging gets you back in action quickly. It even supports reverse charging (to charge other devices) and bypass charging, which helps keep things cool during gaming. Little things, but they matter.

Smooth Day-to-Day Performance

The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor, paired with 8GB RAM, plus virtual RAM up to 8GB. In real-world use, that means everything from social media to casual gaming should run without a hitch.

Multitasking is solid, and app switching feels responsive. Games like BGMI or Asphalt should run just fine on medium to high settings.

Vivo has also done a decent job with its Funtouch OS 15, built over Android 15. It’s clean, light, and doesn’t feel bloated.

Vivo T4R 5G Camera – Good Results Without the Hype

On paper, the camera setup is simple — a 50MP Sony sensor with OIS and a 2MP bokeh lens. But Vivo has always focused on tuning, and that pays off here.

Photos from the main camera look crisp and natural, especially in daylight. Thanks to OIS, shots are less shaky and better in low light too. There are plenty of shooting modes — Portrait, Night, Time-lapse, Dual-view, and even Underwater Mode (yes, really).

Selfie lovers will appreciate the 32MP front camera, which also supports 4K video recording. It’s great for content creators or anyone who’s into Instagram or YouTube.

Connectivity – 5G-Ready and Future-Proof

The T4R 5G comes with support for all major 5G bands, so you’re covered as networks expand in India. It also includes:

  • Wi-Fi 6
  • Bluetooth 5.4 (with aptX HD support)
  • USB-C with OTG & tethering
  • Dual SIM support with Vo5G

No headphone jack, though — which might be a dealbreaker for some.

Smart Features That Actually Help

Vivo has loaded the phone with some AI-powered tools that go beyond gimmicks:

  • AI Erase – Remove photobombers or unwanted objects from pics
  • Circle to Search – Just draw a circle around anything to get Google results
  • AI Transcript Assist – Handy for students and meetings
  • AI Screen Translate – Instantly translate any screen (a lifesaver while shopping online or reading reviews)

They’re easy to use and work surprisingly well.

Unlocking & Audio – What Else?

You get an in-display fingerprint scanner that’s quick and reliable. Face unlock is there too, and works well under normal lighting.

The audio is handled by dual stereo speakers, which are loud enough for YouTube or casual music listening. It’s not flagship-level sound, but at this price, it’s honestly better than expected.

What’s Great:

  • AMOLED 120Hz screen that feels premium
  • Strong battery life with fast & reverse charging
  • Reliable camera with Sony sensor + OIS
  • Solid everyday performance
  • Clean Android 15 experience
  • Smart AI tools that actually do something
  • Durable build with water/dust resistance

What’s Missing:

  • No microSD card slot
  • No headphone jack
  • No FM radio (if that matters to you)

Final Thoughts – Is It Worth Buying?

So I checked out four phones under ₹20,000 — iQOO Z10R, Vivo T4R 5G, Oppo K13, and the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite. Now, to be fair, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite is probably the best overall, but let’s not forget — it came out almost a year ago.

If you’re more into fresh design and that premium look, the Vivo T4R 5G actually feels like a solid deal. It looks great, performs well, and doesn’t feel cheap at all.

And if you’re stuck between the iQOO Z10R and the Vivo T4R — I get it, both are close. But I’ve done a full breakdown on that too, so check it out if you’re still confused.

Bottom line: If you want something new, stylish, and reliable under ₹20K — Vivo T4R 5G is totally worth it.
